When you think of "science" and "lab," what do you imagine? Dull, chilly, and unfamiliar equipment that isn't fun to use and could even be risky to handle. While this perception might be accurate to some extent, one thing that artists and scientists have in common is creativity and sometimes even precision! This 11-part series will explore how to draw scientific equipment, introduce some fascinating geeky terms for these crucial scientific tools, and allow us to learn about and sketch extraordinary scientists.
You will create anywhere from 9 to 11 pieces in your class depending on the day, as some holidays may fall on class dates. You will learn how to draw symmetrical objects quickly and accurately and incorporate imaginary details into your sketches.
Our art sessions are designed for young artists between the ages of 8.5 and 14 and last for 60 minutes. We kindly ask that parents do not attend these classes with their children. Bring your sketchbook and sketch pencil set, or purchase a starter pack or refill from our website below.
Welcome to Sketchbook Challenge™. To get you started and running with the course, we have selected a range of quality art supplies to support your in-class work and at-home practice. You can order here online or with your tutor during class time. Any refills are available in the studio, or send us an email. It's that easy!
