Yahtzee! From power-ups to the art of auctions, and owning lands and hotels, step onto the canvas and into the world of games! What? You’re a serious artist and you don’t play? That’s impossible—creativity thrives on play.
From the geometric patterns of classic board games to the immersive realms of fantasy video games, this module explores how play sparks imagination and fuels design. In The Art of Play, you’ll examine how games use colours, patterns, and movement to tell stories, create strategies, and captivate players.
With your brush as your tool and your canvas as the board, you’ll bring these elements to life—sketching pixel-inspired landscapes, painting dynamic characters, and designing abstract compositions inspired by game worlds. But this isn’t just about games; it’s about thinking creatively, solving visual puzzles, and using art to express your unique perspective on play.
By the end of the module, you’ll have a collection of vibrant works that celebrate the art of strategy, storytelling, and creativity—proving that games and art are the ultimate pair.
