What does the world look like from above? In this creative and hands-on day, we will explore the art of aerial perspectives, using maps, landscapes, and drone imagery as inspiration.
In the morning, we will sketch, paint, and collage aerial-view artworks, imagining cities, rivers, mountains, or even fantastical landscapes from a bird’s-eye perspective. Through colour, shape, and composition, we will bring new worlds to life.
In the afternoon, we will look at how maps and aerial images help us understand places and use craft materials to build textured landscape models. By layering and shaping different forms, we will create our own imaginative terrains while thinking about how landscapes are shaped by nature and design.
The programme runs 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM, with flexible drop-off from 8:15 AM and pick-up until 4:30 PM. Early arrivals can ease into the day with free play, and after 3:00 PM, we will wind down with games, movies, or more art.
By the end of the day, we will have a striking aerial artwork and a tactile landscape model, offering a whole new perspective on how we see the world from above.
