These phrases may sound strange, but in Lab 201™, we’re on a mission to test, build, and investigate what they might really mean, if we took them literally.
In this curiosity-filled STEAM course, each session turns a well-known idiom into a playful design or engineering challenge. From coding a butterfly that flaps inside your stomach to constructing a machine that actually lets the cat out of the bag, we’ll explore the wild intersection of language and logic.
Students will experiment with basic coding, simple machines, paper mechanisms and LEGO builds, all inspired by the imaginative phrases we hear every day. Through questioning, prototyping and playful iteration, they’ll discover how metaphor and meaning connect, while developing real-world problem-solving skills.
In this module, we’ll combine storytelling with structured invention. It’s language, logic, and laughter, all in one!
