Thank You for Being Part of AJ Studio
Thank you for being part of the AJ Studio community. We know that behind every enrolment is a family juggling time, priorities, and a deep hope that their child will learn something meaningful.

Our programmes are thoughtfully designed, and a lot happens behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly, from preparing materials to planning lessons that grow with your child over time. With small class sizes and hands-on teaching, even small changes can have a big impact.

This FAQ was created to answer the most common questions and help set clear expectations. We ask for your understanding and flexibility when things don’t go quite as planned, and we’re always here to help where we can.

Thanks again for learning with us, we can’t wait to see what your child creates next.

Frequently asked questions

 For School Term Programmes

Do students need prior experience?

Not at all. Our programmes are designed to meet students where they are, whether they’re just starting or ready for more advanced work.

Can we try a class before enrolling for the term?

Yes! You’re welcome to book a one-off trial class before committing. Just click and pay online to secure your spot, no need to email first.

How big are the classes?

Our classes are kept small, between 2 to 7 students. This allows for focused, high-quality teaching, but it also means seats are limited. Please note that no refunds are offered once a booking is confirmed. For emergency situations, contact the studio directly.

What should we bring?

Art 101, 201, and 301 (including Lab sessions): All materials are included.

Other classes: Students need to bring their own gear. Please check your course details carefully. Some materials can be purchased through the studio, contact our office for help.

What if we miss a class?

If your child can’t attend a session:
  • Please fill out the catch-up form.
  • We offer make-up classes within the same term (if space is available).
  • The same lesson will not be repeated in the following term, so we’re unable to offer credits or carry-overs.
  • Students can access lesson content and videos, and in some cases, we can arrange an online session on the same day, but this must be confirmed at least 8 hours in advance.

What if the studio cancels a class?

In the unlikely event of a cancellation due to teachers' illness, emergencies, or public health issues, we’ll provide alternatives, such as online class, another in-studio session within the same term, or a holiday programme class. Refunds are not offered in these situations.

Can we join part-way through the term?

Yes, if there’s space, you can join mid-term at a trial session rate, based on the number of classes remaining. Please confirm with the studio first so we can ensure tutor preparation, materials, and class ratios are all in place.

Do you offer any discounts?

We don’t offer discounts for term classes or late starts. However, we do run early bird specials for our holiday programmes, keep an eye out for these!

Frequently asked questions

 For Holiday Programmes

How do I register my child for the programme?

Registration can be completed online via our website at https://ajstudio.online/ As places are limited, we recommend early booking to secure a spot for your child. If you are booking for more than one family, please use a different email address for each child.

What if I need to change to a different date?

We will do our best to accommodate your request, depending on the number of students enrolled on the desired day. Please note that a surcharge of $15 applies to all date changes.

What happens if my child misses a programme?

If your child feels unwell, please keep them at home and contact us to reschedule for another day. If your child is feeling well enough, they may be able to join online via our website. Please notify AJ Studio at least 8 hours prior to the start of the session to arrange this. Catch-up lessons are subject to availability and must be completed within the enrolled period. Please note that unused credits cannot be carried over to the next term or future programmes

What is your refund policy?

We cannot offer refunds if you change your mind. In the event of Covid-19 restrictions or similar situations beyond our control, all workshops will continue online. No refunds will be provided if you decide not to participate in online sessions.

What should my child bring to class?

Please pack enough food for morning tea and lunch, along with a water bottle, as students are not able to leave the studio during the day. Your child may bring a toy or game, but please note that valuable items should be left at home. Tutors cannot take responsibility for damages to personal belongings brought to the workshop.

Which days should my child attend?

Our holiday programme is designed for children aged 5 to 13, and we provide personalised support based on age and skill level. With our small class sizes, every student receives focused guidance. We recommend booking sessions that fit well with your family’s schedule or align with your child’s specific interests for the most enriching experience.

Can I book a single day, or do I need to book the entire programme?

You can book for a half-day, an individual day, or the entire holiday programme, depending on your needs. However, booking the full programme offers a more cohesive learning experience for your child, as the lessons are designed to build on each other throughout the week.

How do I know which programme is suitable for my child?

Our programmes cater to a wide range of interests and abilities, with lessons designed to engage every learner. If you need help choosing the right programme for your child, our staff are more than happy to provide recommendations based on your child’s interests and skills.

Is there any outdoor activity involved?

For our holiday programme, there are no outdoor activities involved. During summer, we do venture out of the Studio and visit the library across the road, if that's part of the programme, it'll be listed on that day's timetable, otherwise, all activities will be in the Studio.

What safety measures are in place?

We prioritise student safety through regular studio sanitisation, mandatory hand hygiene, and social distancing wherever possible. Should health concerns arise during a session, parents are informed, and the necessary precautions are taken.

Can I visit the studio before booking?

Absolutely! We encourage parents to visit AJ Studio to get a feel for the environment and meet our tutors. Please contact us to schedule a visit.
