An encounter that reminded us why we do what we do

Something unexpected happened recently during our founder Alice’s studies at Harvard—something small, but deeply meaningful.
After class, a fellow student from Mexico approached her—nervously at first—and shared that she had been following AJ Studio online for years. She spoke about how much our classes had inspired her, especially the way we blend art with science and maths in an interdisciplinary way, our approach felt imaginative, forward-thinking, and full of heart.
She had seen Alice on campus the year before but didn’t realise who she was until much later. “To me, you were like a celebrity,” she said with a shy smile. What touched us most wasn’t the compliment—it was the reminder that something created quietly, with care, in a little studio on the other side of the world, had reached someone far away and made an impact.
We’ve always believed that art is a universal language. That when creativity meets curiosity, learning becomes not just more engaging, but more human. We don’t always know who’s watching or where our work ends up—but this encounter reminded us that the values we hold at AJ Studio can travel far beyond our own walls. Sometimes, the work speaks for itself.
To witness that connection unfold at a place like Harvard—between two dedicated learners and passionate educators from different parts of the world—affirmed everything we stand for: creating space for young people to explore, connect, and express their ideas in meaningful ways.
