This term, we’re setting sail on a journey of invention, identity, and a little bit of splash.
We’ll be designing and building our very own waka, boats that don’t just float, but also carry a story. Just like candy bars are wrapped in colours and logos that make them unforgettable, our waka will wear their own identity: a flag, a name, a visual style that says, this belongs to me. And it actually works!
Along the way, we’ll explore the science of floating and movement. What makes something glide smoothly, or tip over with a splash? We’ll experiment with shape, balance, materials, and motion. We'll test, adjust, rethink, and try again. We'll sketch our ideas, build prototypes, and gradually turn our creations into real, working waka and motors that are ready for launch.
This module is all about expressing who we are through design. By the end of the module, we’ll launch our branded waka into water, and into the world. Part engineering, part design, part personal statement: this is creative problem-solving, powered by AJ Studio.
