Monday to Friday, 3.00 to 5.00 pm, in the Tōtara Point School art room. The school looks after the children from the 2.40 pm bell until we take over at 3.00 pm. Each weekday is booked separately, so choose the days that suit your family.
From 3.00 to 4.30 pm, we run the Curiosity Lab session, with a short break for afternoon tea. From 4.30 to 5.00 pm there's time for homework, quiet play, and keeping going on the day's project. Please collect your child from the art room by 5.00 pm and sign out with our team.
Real techniques across drawing, painting, design, and simple technology, and the thinking habits that go with them: noticing, asking questions, trying again. Each term has its own themes, and every child works at their own level.
It's the same curriculum thinking, delivered at school, straight after the bell, as a regular weekly rhythm rather than a one-off workshop. Over a term, children build on their work week by week.
Create a login in your child's name, add each day you'd like to the cart, and pay at checkout. Booking three or four days? Enter the code LAB3DAYS at checkout for the $28 rate. Booking all five? Choose the Full Week bundle. Each child needs their own login with a different email address; a Gmail trick is yourname+childname@gmail.com, which still arrives in your usual inbox. After payment, please complete the short enrolment form we send you, so we have your emergency contacts, who's authorised to collect, and any medical or allergy needs before your child's first afternoon.
All materials, our educators, and supervised homework and quiet time until 5.00 pm. Please send a named afternoon tea and a water bottle. Fees for the term: $30 per afternoon, $28 per afternoon for three or four days a week (code LAB3DAYS), or $1,100 for a full week (Full Week bundle). Discounts don't stack, so if two apply, the larger one is used.
Yes, 10% off the second child. Book your first child at full price, then email learn@ajstudio.online with both children's names. We'll send you a one-time sibling code to use on your second child's login.
Yes, $40 per afternoon, subject to availability. Email us by 12 pm on the day. If a child is still at school at 3.00pm and not collected, they will join us in the art room and be charged the casual rate, so please let us know if this is likely.
Booked afternoons are paid for whether your child attends, as we staff based on the number of bookings. We don't offer sessions on public holidays or days the school is closed, and we don't charge for them.
